How To: Get the Facebook Paper App on Your iPhoneNo Matter What Country You Live In
It was just released a few days, but Facebook Paper has already taken the world by storm. CNET said it was a better way to use Facebook. TIME said it's the future of Facebook. The Verge called it the best Facebook app ever. There's one problem, though...It's only available for iOS users in the U.S. right now.If you're an international user that doesn't feel like waiting for Facebook Paper to make its way over to your side of the world, I'm going to show you how to download the app right now using a simple little iOS App Store fakeout. Step 1: Go to the iOS App StoreHop in to the App Store on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch and select the Featured section, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. You should see your Apple ID right above the "Terms and Conditions" link that no one has probably ever clicked on before.
Step 2: Tap on Your Apple IDSelect your Apple ID to bring up a pop-up menu, then select View Apple ID and enter in your passcode.
Step 3: Switch AllegiancesInside the "Account Settings" page, you'll see a section titled Country/Region. Select this option, then select Change Country or Region. In the next window, use the drop-down menu to select United States for "Store." Then pretend to read the Terms and Conditions by accepting them to finally gain access to the U.S. App Store. Now, just search for Facebook Paper, or check the featured section for it, then download and install.Once the app is installed and running, you can go back to Account Settings for the iOS App Store and go back to your original country. Now you can now enjoy Facebook Paper, no matter where you reside.
Important Note About Payment Methods & iTunes MatchYou will need to have a payment method that is accepted in the United States in order for you to gain access to the U.S. App Store. You may also need to disable your iTunes Match account until after you have downloaded Facebook Paper.
Alternatively, You Could Create a U.S.-Based AccountIf you have some extra time on your hands, you can actually create a completely new U.S.-based iTunes account.If you already have one, you'll need to log out completely and re-enter the iOS App Store as if it was your first time using it. Then enter in all the information as if you were a resident of the United States—just look up a U.S. zip code with its corresponding state.
